Philosophy of a Lilac Princess
Mind is illusory as a fundamental state of being. The human mind is illusory in that with a human mind, there is the perception of being separate from ones environment, of objectivity, and of no direct interaction between the mind and creation. This illusion is important because I believe that many kinds of knowledge could not be gained without the appearance of and attempt to be objective to ones environment, although this is not actually possible.
The most fundamental substance of being is consciousness. The only distinction I make between the mind of the human and the All, or consciousness, is the illusory separation, which can be recognized as such eventually, and which will be recognized when an appropriate amount of understanding is attained. It is not neccessarily better to recognize this connection, although it might be argued that it is healthier for creation, because when you recognize a connection between yourself and all of creation, you are far less likely to harm it intentionally or needlessly. Despite this, it is another and equally important step, and is probably the next step in the progression towards unity and interconnectedness.
There is no problem in the interaction of mind and body, because all is fundamentally consciousness or mind, and matter precedes naturally from consciousness. Within consciousness is contained the potentiality for everything that does now or could ever possibly exist, and this can change form between pure energy and thought to matter, to perhaps some other state of existence which we are not currently aware of, and back, at the control of consciousness. When consciousness recognizes, becomes aware of, or chooses a specific potentiality, that potentiality becomes matter, or whatever chosen form. This is important, because at an early level of understanding, matter is the only form or existence that the mind has, in its illusion of separation. So while matter is not inherently better, it has a function which cannot be ignored. Energy also is not fundamentally better, only different.
Because the human mind is part of the all and consciousness even if it is not realized, the human mind has control over its environment and the material world, which is only an aspect of it. In the first stages of human consciousness, "sense" "logic" and materialism predominate the understanding of the world. Because we have control over our world, the fact that we naturally believe these things initially, makes them seem to be inherent in the world. They are very important because without them we could not attain the knowledge and understanding of the world, flawed and incomplete though it may be, which will allow us to progress in our understanding of the All.
It takes more than one individual human life to build up the understanding to see such things, without the help of direct experiential meditation and communion with the divine or the All, or consciousness. This knowledge of our interconnection can come either from the building up of more knowledge and through it understanding, or through direct experience.
It has taken so long to come the stage where we begin to truly understand our interconnectedness, because not everyone chooses to have or believes in direct experiential proof, due to their belief in material realism, determinism, and the Newtonian. Often, they can only be convinced by knowledge that at least on some level is arrived at through reasoning and what appears to be objective information.
The current apparently objective information which leads us to realize interconnecrtedness is the finding of modern quantum physics, which also "proves" what has been taught all along by the more mystical and pure of the worlds spiritualities, before many were corrupted by those in power, and used in order to control the followers. It was often assumed by these distorted versions that not everyone was capable of experiencing direct experiential communion, but had to trust to the teaching of an enlightened and connected teacher.
Determinism and logic are not bad in and of themselves, but they are limited. They are essentially tools that one uses to attain greater level of understanding and knowledge. When they are considered to be the end, and all that is needed, then they become dangerous and harmful. The proccess that we have taken to arrive at our realization of interconnection is as important as the realization itself in a way, because the means do not justify the ends, but are are just as important as the ends.
