A very favourite author of mine is L.M. Montgomery, creator of the beloved "Anne of Green Gables" books, the "Emily" books, and many individual stories. Anne Shirley is my favorite literary heroine, and
the fiery red-head contains all of womanhood within her heart. She is a wonderful mother, wife, and home-maker,
but she also has a degree, a successful teaching career, and is a published author. Anne had every extreme of existence,
from incredibly logical and practical, to tempestuous and a whirlwind of passion. Every woman can relate
to her, because she goes through such emotional turmoil and trials of the soul that we really
believe in her, and care about her. I certainly endeavor to be like Anne once my character is fully developed. It was a combination of these books, as well
as the website, The Isle of Magick,
specifically, the section about "Mystical Homecare", and "Your Blue Castle" which inspired me to create my own "Blue Castle" or "Estate in Spain", or "House of Dreams".
And so, I layed down and pictured it all clearly in head fist, then went about writing down the details in my
journal. As I did so, I discovered a curious thing. I had started by outside of the house, and to do so, I had to describe the land close by. Then, of course, roads and villages further away, until before I knew it,
I had practically created my own world! I tried to anticipate criticisms people may have of my universe, and repeated the things that
were especially important, until I had my utopia! And so, I share with you the first version of my Blue Castle/Utopia.......perhaps in time there will be a house!
The house is located on the coast of Ireland, facing the west, looking out to unbroken ocean. Early in the morning, mist rises off the sea,
softening the coastline. Occasional patches of rocks with the moss of ages obscure the coast, interspersed with stretches of soft, shimmering golden
sand. It is no trouble to find beautiful shells on the beach. Further inland, the sand fades smoothly into lush, velvety green grasses and wildflower fields.
To the north and south of the house are large hills, with cliffs facing the sea. The north hill is larger, but the south has a well-trodden path winding its way to the summit.
The memories of thousands of peaceful trips to the cliff can be felt, almost tangible. On the way to the zenith, many waterfalls cascade over one another, filling and
swirling into small pools, until they pour over the edge of some other precipice on their way to join with the ocean.
Plants and small bushes bearing sweet fruits are on both sides,
as well as many Dryad spirits. The slender Willow, pale silvery Birch, and strong sound Elder shadow the walk from the sun overhead. I know them all. The fauna are the most
kindred of spirits with me, and we trust each other completely. All of the animals are herbivores, eating only as much they require, in order not to deplete the environment. Plant
life too grows only in the manner that it is needed, and there is no competition. Each being exists in a perfect environmental niche, including mankind.
Improvement without competition flourishes, and its purpose is not to outdo, but to make existence more pleasurable, simple, and beautiful for all of creation. Everything exists in perfect balance and harmony, and because
we utilize more of the energy available to us, it is easier to live our lives. In winter, those beings whose food dies either become photosynthetic, using the sunlight to provide for themselves,
or hibernate, and live off of their own body's supplies until spring. Rain occurs as it is needed, as does sunlight, cloud cover, and all other such phenomena. Everything is circular and nothing ends,
as spring winds to summer, fall, winter, and back to spring again.
A collective unconscious exists, and is available to all humankind, once they are ready to acquire it. All people are different
and unique, but possess skills and talents necessary to the whole. All are respected as necessary parts of the whole of creation. No one person is more important than another. Each person
lives in what living arrangement and environment best suites them, but no one desires one that is detrimental to others, because the consequences are clearly understood.
Electrical power exists, but is provided by a the sun or a naturally occurring plant which grows in any climate easily. It grows when there is need, and does not take up more space or resources than it must. Because of
the usefulness and modesty of the plant, its appearance is very beautiful to all. Technology exists and also continues to improve because of the desire to make life better for others and not due
to competition. Some use technology more, others less, but everything is perfectly balanced. Humanity appreciates all that it has, because within the collective unconscious exists all the
memories of the planet Earth. Horrors such as hate, war, famine and disease are understood, as well as the possibility of them occurring again, if the balance is not maintained within each person. People
desire to improve existence, rather than destroy it.
Children are conceived in the same way, but only when a couple chooses for it to be so. No child is ever born without thought for its future and upbringing. There are never more children than can be well taken care of and loved.
When offspring are not desired, sex is still pursued for many reasons. Some desire pure
pleasure, others to express undying love, and still other to establish more of a connection between one another. Sex is at all times appreciated for the wonderful and glorious gift that it is, and no
stigmas of sin, shame, or embarrassment are ever thought of.
All diseases have been overwhelmed, and bacteria and viruses now live in a completely symbiotic relationship with their hosts and environment.
Symbiosis thrives among all creatures, and all less healthy and beneficial systems of existence have naturally faded away, because they upset the balance. Creation causes all things to
remain in balance.
Death is no longer feared as an end, because of course, everything is part of the cycle, and nothing ever truly ends. Our innate connection with all of creation is acknowledged
and appreciated by all, and so the circle turns, and the balance is maintained.
